Hello Lions!
As a student who commutes to campus, York University and York's Colleges/Facultie want to support your participation in Orientation Week. To help with this, a Commuter Sleep Over Space has been established in the Upper Gym of the Tait Mackenzie building where students may stay overnight free of charge. To use this space students must sign up daily, as spaces are limited.
As spaces are limited, if you signed up but no longer wish to use the commuter room you must notify your Orientation Chair (O-Chair) so your space can be given to another student. Otherwise, you risk losing the ability to use the space going forward.
IMPORTANT:
- The Commuter Space will open each evening at 8:00 PM and doors will close at 2:00 AM. If you do not enter the Tait McKenzie Building prior to 2:00 AM you will not be admitted/allowed entry. The Commuter Space closes at 8:00 AM and you must exit the space and take all belongings with you (you cannot leave your posessions in the gym). We do not recommend that you bring valueables with you
- Please ensure that you have your YU Card as you will need it as identification to enter the Commuter Space and ensure that you have registered for the Tait McKenzie Basic Membership (FREE) for access to the Tait McKenzie Building
